Welcome to the Art and Science
of Performing Leadership

Leadership isn’t about the role you play. It’s about how you show up—on stage and behind the scenes—when the pressure is real.

You're In Great Company

For over 3 decades, I have been honored to help 1000's of leaders, teams, organizations and government agencies to perform leadership well!

Dr. Suzie Carmack is on a mission is to help leaders expand their leadership performance potential by showing them how to practice the art and science of performing leadership.

With more than 30 years of experience, her work seamlessly integrates communication science research with the performing arts to expand every leader's unique performance potential—in leadership and in life.

As a four-time best-selling author, keynote speaker, performing artist, and scholar-practitioner, Dr. Carmack has inspired thousands of leaders, teams, organizations and government agencies across sectors, including education, public health, healthcare, and public service (including the military, emergency response and intelligence communities).

As a coach and trainer/facilitator, she has personally coached and certified thousands of coaches globally, helping them to apply the latest findings in performance in their work and their lives. A pilot study by the University of North-Carolina Chapel Hill found that her coaching method improved the well-being of emerging leaders (physician-scientists) during the pressures of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As the host of the podcast Behind the Scenes of Leadership, Dr. Carmack invites leaders to tell the untold stories of how they led themselves and their teams through change - onstage and off. She serves as a Senior Scholar with the Center for the Advancement of Well-Being at George Mason University and as Human Dimensions Team Lead at NewBridge Partners, supporting leaders, teams, and organizations to perform well with presence under pressure and to optimize their work/life well-being. Her next book, Performing Leadership: The Art and Science of Leading Your Self and Your Team to Optimal Performance, is due for release in 2026.
